MONGODB
.LOCAL
PAN-APAC
Challenge
MongoDB needed a unified, scalable event series across diverse Pan-APAC markets — spanning cultures, cities, and venue sizes — while maintaining consistent brand identity and delivering meaningful developer and enterprise engagement across 6 cities simultaneously.
The challenge was designing a visual and spatial system flexible enough to adapt to ballrooms ranging from 24 to 152 feet, while ensuring every city felt locally resonant yet instantly recognisable as MongoDB.
Strategy
We built the MongoDB.local brand from the ground up — rooted in four core attributes: Intuitive, Trusted, Nimble, and Inventive. The design philosophy drew inspiration from the Tangram puzzle, reimagined through fluidic, grid-wrapped shapes representing form and freedom.
A flexible visual system — featuring citywise illustrations, a dual colour palette (darker for structures, vivid for collaterals), and a scalable multi-screen stage architecture — ensured every city felt locally resonant yet globally cohesive.
Execution
Delivered across 6 cities — New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Taipei, Singapore, and Jakarta — the series featured a modular stage system accommodating ballrooms from 24 to 152 feet.
- 163 speakers across technical and business tracks
- 24 workshops with 2,231 attendees and 1,324 skilled badges awarded
- 48 hours of programming delivered across the series
- Multi-screen stage formats with city-specific tangram-inspired stage design
- Sponsor integrations with AWS, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure — 15 total sponsors
- Diverse content tracks: technical sessions for developers and business sessions for decision-makers
Results
MongoDB.local cemented itself as APAC's premier developer summit series — with record participation, deep enterprise engagement, and massive social reach across all 6 cities.
